Belgorod power engineers commemorated Full Cavalier of the Order of Glory Alexander Pisklov

Seventh of May in the village of Soldatskoye in Rakityansky district of the Belgorod region at the grave of Full Cavalier of the Order of Glory Alexander S. Pisklov a rally of memory and gratitude for deeds committed by our fellow-power engineer in the Great Patriotic War was held.

Alexander S. Pisklov is not only an honorable soldier, but a power engineer. He was at the forefront of the energy industry in the region, for many years worked as an electrician at the Gotnyansky power station. In 2012 Belgorod power engineers laid a park in memory of the hero, and this year in the framework of the project "Story of a feat", with the personal funds of employees gathered on the eve of Victory Day, it was decided to landscape the burial place of the hero.

 

Head of Rakityansky district Vladimir Pertsev, First Deputy Director of IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division Alexander Shadrin, schoolchildren and staff of Rakityansky Distribution Zone participated in the meeting.

"The historical and social action "Story of a feat" is tribute and respect to known and unknown exploits of a whole generation of winners, an opportunity to tell the truth about their loved ones who fought at the front or forged the victory at the rear," stressed Alexander Shadrin. "The project of IDGC of Centre has found a broad response in the company. Its employees have become authors of many stories about the heroic pages of the war, written by members of their families. For example, specialists of Belgorodenergo prepared more than 300 materials on their relatives, friends, fellow countrymen, who defended the country during the war. Including, aboiut Alexander S. Pisklov," he underlined.

 

The history of the life and exploits of A.S. Pisklov was prepared and placed on a specially created website of the project by staff of Belgorodenergo. Full Cavalier of the Order of Glory A.S. Pisklov went through the war, fought at the Kursk Bulge, in Ukraine, fighting for the Dnieper, Poland, Germany and Czechoslovakia. Then on June 24, 1945, he took part in the military parade on Red Square in Moscow.

Sergeant A.S. Pisklov was awarded Order of Glory of Degree III in September 1944 for bold and decisive actions in the battles near the Polish city of Debica. A month later, on the night of 7 to 8 October 1944 in the Sandomierz bridgehead his crew defeated the attack of enemy infantry, for which the brave commander was awarded the Order of Glory of Degree II. He committed another heroic deed 20 February 1945 on the west bank of the Oder River in Germany, where units of the division fought to expand the bridgehead. Gunners repelled 11 fierce attacks enemy infantry and tanks, destroying a heavy tank, a self-propelled artillery system, four gun emplacements and up to a platoon of soldiers and officers. For his persistence in this fierce battle the gun commander Sergeant A.S. Pisklov by Order of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on 29.06.1945 was awarded the Order of Glory of Degree I.

Alexander met Victory Day in Czechoslovakia. He was demobilized in November 1945, and from that time he worked as an electrician at the Gotnyansky railway power station. Several times he was elected secretary of the party organization of the power station. For many years his name was entered in the Book of Honour of the Kharkiv energy section. Busts of A.S. Pisklov, made by the sculptor A.I. Borisenko, are installed in the Alley of Heroes of the village of Rakitnoye and in the park of the village of Proletarskoye.

The current generation of power engineers of the region cherishes his memory. The rally ended with planting trees in the park named after Full Cavalier of the Order of Glory A.S. Pisklov.
