Tambovenergo held a rally "St. George’s Ribbon"

30.04.2015

IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division held a patriotic action "St. George’s Ribbon", dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory. Its purpose is to remind the younger generation of what price our people paid for the victory in the most terrible war of the twentieth century.

St. George’s Ribbon has a glorious history, and its colours - black, the ashes of the war, and orange, the eternal flame of memory - today symbolize the Great Victory. Millions of people around the world during the period from April 24 to May 12 wear the ribbons on their chest, paying tribute to the courage of the soldiers and officers who died in the fields of the Great Patriotic. Tambov power engineers also from one year to the next participate in this action.

At the entrance to the conference room of Tambovenergo activists of the branch met participants of the patriotic event and handed ribbons to them. Its guest of honour was the leader of the search party "Seeker" of the Tambov regional branch of the All-Russian Public Movement "Search movement of Russia" Pavel Seregin. He spoke of the many years of research activities of the movement and the results achieved to perpetuate the memory of war veterans who died in battles near Kaluga, Orel and Smolensk.

"I am very pleased that the Tambov power engineers show a genuine interest in preserving the memory of the people who did not return from the battlefields, contributed to the approach of the Victory Day. It is important that each of us has made every effort to perpetuate the names of those soldiers who sacrificed the most valuable - their lives for our peaceful future," stressed Pavel Seregin.

Tambovenergo has its own participants of the search movement. Deputy Chief of Kirsanovsky Distribution Zone for sale of services of Tambovenergo Sergey Kolychev spoke about his many years of search work related to the restoration of names of pilots who died while performing their duty in the territory of Kirsanovsky district of the Tambov region. Thanks to this, the names of more than 20 pilots, navigators, gunners and radio operators were returned from oblivion. In 2013 Sergey Kolychev with his personal funds erected a monument to the crew of the aircraft Li-2 Air Division Task, who died in a crash in February 1944 near the village of Kobyaki in Kirsanovsky district.

But there are still names of the participants of the Great Patriotic War to be immortalized in history. During the campaign, Sergey Kolychev was solemnly transferred the funds collected by employees of the branch for the monument to one of a fallen crew on the territory of Kirsanovsky district of the Tambov region, which is scheduled to open on the eve of the Victory Day. There was no single person to be indifferent among power engineers. And the monument will list names of all the dead pilots.
