Kostromaenergo moved to the target model of operational and technological management

31.03.2015

Check of the Grid Control Centre (GCC) of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division readiness to move to the target level system operational and technological management has ended, involving centralized management of grid facilities in the region of 35-110 kV voltage level (0.4- 10 kV grid facilities will remain in the management of Distribution Zones). The readiness was confirmed during the grid-wide emergency exercise in which operators of the GCC eliminated outage of a 110 kV Conductor, which led to the disruption of power supply to consumers in Makarevsky and Kadyysky administrative districts of the Kostroma region.

During the emergency training session the operators had a task not only to quickly organize the work of repair crews and as soon as possible to restore power supply, but also to provide the most reliable operation of equipment after the failure. The assigned task was successfully solved: electricity supply to all consumers was restored in 1 hour 17 minutes. Following the results of the training the commission, which included representatives of IDGC of Centre, JSC "SO UES", issued a certificate of readiness of the Kostroma branch of IDGC of Centre to move to the target two-tier electric grid management system in the region. The transition to the target two-tier system will be implemented April 2, 2015.

"The move to the target two-tier system of operational and technological management can significantly improve the management of grid facilities, accelerate information exchange, and increase the efficiency of decision-making. All of this will ultimately enhance the reliability of power supply of the Kostroma region," stresses Deputy Chief Engineer for operational, technological and situational management - Head of the GCC Pavel Kolotilov.
