In 2015 Belgorodenergo expects to save 13 million kWh

26.01.2015

IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division approved a program of energy conservation and energy efficiency for 2015. As a result of all activities annual savings to reduce losses are expected in the amount of 13 million kWh.

The maximum effect - more than 12 million kWh - the branch expects to receive from the identification and recovery of unmetered power consumption, which the connection to the grid without a power supply contract or unauthorized interference with the metering system refers to.

Replacing wires on overloaded lines for wires with a larger cross section, load balancing of transformers and phases of distribution networks, replacement of leads-in in consumers’ homes, as well as disconnection of power equipment with seasonal load will bring an additional effect in the amount of 1.2 million kWh.

According to the unified technical policy, outdated oil circuit breakers are replaced with vacuum and gas-insulated ones. In addition to reducing its own energy consumption, they increase the reliability and reduce the fire hazard. During the reconstruction and construction of power lines self-supporting insulated wire (SIW) is used, which also helps reduce losses and practically eliminate short circuit, for example, when falling branches on the wire. Transformers with a lower class of power consumption are installed at substations.

Power engineers see huge potential in activities for reactive power compensation. Thus, on average during the installation of a MVAr compensating device in a node with lack of reactive power 130,000 kilowatt-hours per year are saved. Operation and maintenance of outdoor lighting networks requires permanent attention. The choice is made in favour of the most efficient, economical and reliable lighting fixtures with energy-saving lamps: sodium, LED, induction, which are controlled by an automatic control system of outdoor lighting.

Fuel and energy resources, used for business needs of the branches, are consistently reduced at Distribution Zones’ sites through the use of modern LED and induction lamps, infrared heaters with an automatic control system, sensors and timers, as well as continuing work with the staff in terms of energy efficiency. Last year energy in the amount of 1.8 million rubles was saved that way.

In 2015, the branch plans to intensify educational work with the population of the region. In each Distribution Zone a specialist was appointed responsible for energy conservation. In addition to internal tasks, a range of activities with consumers was planned, including holding of energy-saving lessons and consultations. The most important priorities in this area, defined by the "Policy of innovative development, energy conservation and efficiency of JSC "Russian Grids" are consistent reduction of losses, energy resources saving for industrial and economic needs, increasing productivity and gradual increase in the share of R&D.
