Lipetskenergo celebrated the fiftieth anniversary

December 12, 2014 IDGC of Centre - Lipetskenergo division held celebrations in honour of the fiftieth anniversary of its founding.

On that day in the building of Lipetskenergo the enterprise museum was opened. Its first visitors were managers of the celebrating company and IDGC of Centre, and, of course, veterans of the power system. "Our museum was created with gratitude to those who from the very first days of the establishment of Lipetskenergo and up to the present actively and enthusiastically worked and work, who have made and continue to contribute to the development of the energy industry of the Lipetsk region," stressed Head of Public Relations of the branch Tatiana Tarasova, opening the museum exhibitions.

During the tour of the museum visitors learned the unique photographs and artifacts related to different periods of development of the enterprise, from the first steps on the electrification of the region to large-scale construction projects and sectoral reforms.

Honouring the people, who created the Lipetsk grid and continues to develop it, took place at a ceremony held in the Regional Centre of Culture and Folk Art.

The event brought together about a thousand power engineers. The Lipetsk region leaders and representatives of IDGC of Centre came to congratulate them.

Welcoming remarks were made by Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Lipetskenergo division director Alexander Konanykhin. In his report he made an excursion into the history of the company and also spoke about the latest achievements of the branch, stressing that all this was made possible thanks to the professionalism and dedication of the team of Lipetskenergo.

"During these 50 years Lipetskenergo shared with residents the historical landmarks of the young region establishing, creating a solid foundation for its socio-economic development. So we can safely say that this is our common holiday. I express special thanks on this day to veterans of the Lipetsk power grid, taking the hardship of the early years of constructing grids! Today worthy traditions laid by you are continued by the present generation of power engineers. It's a big responsibility, but the team of IDGC of Centre can cope with it. And we have repeatedly proved that, with courage, patience and dedication in extreme conditions. I wish all employees of IDGC of Centre reliable, stable and trouble-free operation. Let the light that you give people be back to you a hundredfold," stressed Head of Lipetskenergo.

On behalf of all the inhabitants of the region the power engineers were congratulated by First Deputy Head of the Lipetsk region administration Yury Bozhko. He thanked the staff of Lipetskenergo for their professionalism in ensuring reliable and uninterrupted power supply on the region.

"I cordially congratulate the power engineers of IDGC of Centre on this special occasion! Five decades - it is the time of formation of the local industry, the creation of large-scale agricultural production, the construction of new factories and power plants. Today, in the Lipetsk region favourable conditions for investments have been created, steady growth in industrial production has been achieved, and many social problems have been successfully solved. And in many respects it is a merit of the power engineers, who are always proactive, putting all plans and projects into reality. I wish all those, who constructed, construct today and who have yet to create the future of our land, health, happiness and prosperity!"

First Deputy General Director - Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre Alexander Pilyugin noted that over half a century Lipetsk power engineers have proven that they were and remain a cohesive team of like-minded professionals. "With their creative work they have convincingly demonstrated that the distribution grid complex has all the necessary features to ensure reliable energy supply to customers and to meet the challenges of any size and complexity. We heartily thank you for your diligent work and professionalism!", he said to the Lipetsk power engineers.

To celebrate the holiday the best employees of the branch were awarded state, departmental and industry awards, made forever inscribed in the history of Lipetskenergo. The birthday of Lipetskenergo is considered to be December 12, 1964. On that day, according to the Order of the State Production Committee on Energy and Electrification of the USSR Lipetsky, Yeletsky and Lebedyansky Distribution Zones as part of Regional Energy Office "Lipetskenergo" on a self-sustained budget were organized. This event became one of the most important, not only in the company's history, but also in the development of the regional economy. In subsequent years, the power engineers created powerful energy potential, allowing the young Lipetsk region in a relatively short period of time to reach the level of a mighty industrial centre, with strong economic performance and growing international reputation.

A turning milestone in the history of Lipetskenergo was in 2005. As a result of the reform of the sector the company was unbundled into enterprises of generation and supply of electricity, a transmission grid company, and an electric grid company. The modern stage of development of the energy company began in 2008, when Lipetskenergo as a branch merged IDGC of Centre, the development strategy of which was based on the following principles: the creation and maintenance of energy security, efficiency and investment attractiveness, increasing confidence of consumers, as well as shareholders and investors.

Today IDGC of Centre - Lipetskenergo division operates electric power transmission, grid connection of new customers and provision of energy services in the Lipetsk region with a total area of over 24 thousand kilometres and a population of about 1.16 million people. The annual volume of electricity transmitted by Lipetskenergo is more than 7 billion KWh. The production capacity of Lipetskenergo is 200 substations of 35-110 kV; 8,705 transformer substations of 6-10/0.4 kV; 32.87 thousand km of power lines. Solving the company’s production problems is provided by highly professional staff, numbering 2,287 employees.
