We went into the winter fully prepared

Preparing for a failure-free autumn-winter operation period in IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division went according to the plan.

According to Deputy Chief Engineer for Operations - Head of the Production Asset Management Centre of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division Oleg Shirokov, for 10 months in 2014 Smolenskenergo spent more than 178 million rubles on the repair program. In this case, were spent on the repair of 0.4-110 kV cables and overhead power lines, and 51.11 million rubles on the repair of 6-110 kV substations. 50.8 million rubles were directed for the repair of vehicles, buildings and structures, supervisory process control, instrumentation, relay protection and automation in the current period.

Smolenskenergo’s specialists in the period from January to October repaired 1,991.4 km of power lines of 35-110 kV, 1291.12 km of 0.4-10 kV lines and 600 transformer substations of 6-10/0.4 kV. During this period 6,894 insulators were replaced on 35-110 kV overhead lines, 4,109 insulators and 1,606 poles were replaced on 0.4-10 kV overhead lines. In addition, comprehensive repair was performed at 21 substations of 35-110 kV, the most significant of which is the 110/35/10 kV "Russia", 110/35/6 kV "Pronino" and 110/35/6 kV "Roslavl".

Special attention in the implementation of the repair program in 2014 is paid to clearing and extension of ROWs. To avoid cases of equipment disconnection for 10 months of the year 1,568.25 hectares of ROWs along 6-110 kV power lines were cleared of trees and overgrown bushes. Extension of the ROWs along 6-110 kV overhead lines was performed in the amount of 591.62 hectares.

"Quality and timely repairs allow the energy sector to ensure the effective operation and development of the electric grid complex of the region. Applying modern technologies and materials, the branch seeks to increase equipment life and reduce costs for scheduled maintenance," stressed Oleg Shirokov.

Please, be reminded that September 24, 2014 the branch received its certificate of readiness for the autumn-winter 2014/2015 operation period. It is an important for the branch document, indicating the availability to work during peak load periods and officially confirms that the Smolensk power engineers completed all the necessary activities to prepare for the winter and should successfully and smoothly operate in the cold.

The carried out during the year work was estimated by a commission consisting of representatives of IDGC of Centre, the Administration of the Smolensk region, Smolensk Transmission Control Centre, a branch of JSC "SO UES", regional offices of RTN and EMERCOM.
