13.10.2014

Last week an event "For children’s electrical safety" started in Kursk: a trolley bus was launched in streets of the city with placed on the sides of images and slogans dedicated to the prevention of children’s electrical injuries. The event was organized by IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division with the support of the City Education Committee, the event is held in order to inform students and their families about the rules of electrical safety in the framework of a comprehensive program to reduce risk of injury to third-parties at power facilities.

On the first day of the event all passengers of the colorfully decorated trolley bus were met by experts of Kurskenergo, who reminded them of rules handling with electricity and handed over souvenirs: themed timetables, bookmarks, stickers and calendars. The driver after each stop did an announcement of the need to comply with electrical safety rules.

The passengers consider the social initiative of the power engineers useful and effective. "Children will remember when dealing with electricity, you have to be careful and cautious and will not expose yourself to unnecessary risk," a pensioner Svetlana is sure about it. A student of the Kursk State University Katerina agrees with her: "No matter how many passengers take note of the information of the power engineers - it will still be positive," she believes.

The branded trolley bus, the routes of which run along 52 schools of the regional centre, will run until April 2015. During this time the public transport will carry no fewer than 150,000 passengers. The major part of them are children.

Please, be reminded that in addition to social events, designed for a long period, Kurskenergo’s experts in an effort to prevent children’s electrical injuries conduct classes for children in schools, organize seminars for teachers of life safety. Only in 2013 - 2014 these events were attended by over three thousand schoolchildren.

"Prevention of children’s electrical injuries is one of the priorities of the social policy of Kurskenergo," emphasizes Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division director Alexander Rudnevsky. "As the practice shows, activities carried out by our experts give good results, so we plan to continue in the future systematic work in this area."
