Tverenergo received its certificate of readiness for the autumn-winter operation period

The Tver branch of IDGC of Centre received a document indicating the readiness of electric grid facilities for the stable operation and reliability of electricity supply in low temperature conditions. The Certificate of readiness for the autumn-winter operation period of 2014-2015 was handed over to Deputy Director for Technical Issues - Chief Engineer of the branch Alexey Galkin by the Commission Chairman, Deputy Chief Engineer for Production Control and Safety of IDGC of Centre Alexander Zamotay.

To obtain the Certificate the specialists of the power grid held serious and purposeful work. The availability of departments, services and Distribution Zones for of the autumn-winter peak loads for a few weeks was assessed by a special commission consisting of heads of technical services and departments of Tverenergo, Tver Transmission Control Centre, EMERCOM of Russia in the Tver region, Central Office of the Federal Service for Ecological, Technological and Nuclear Supervision.

For just nine months of this year 26 substations of 35-110 kV were comprehensively renovated and 1,288 km of 0.4-110 kV overhead lines were repaired. To date, power engineers of the branch at 99% (4,548 ha) has performed the plan of clearing ROWs. Work is carried out in order to prevent all sorts of technological disorders associated with overlapping of overhead power lines as a result of falling branches or trees.

"The main and most serious work has been done, but this step will not be terminated. We continue to work hard to meet properly the winter with all available resources", commented Deputy Director for Technical Issues - Chief Engineer of the branch Alexey Galkin.

In case of emergency situations Tverenergo prepared 18 redundant power supply sources.

And the staff of the branch was trained to work during the autumn-winter peak load: emergency drills and joint exercises of power engineers, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the administrations of the districts were carried out to test the interaction at liquidation of emergency operation modes. The Crisis Management Centre is in operation to ensure security of electricity supply.

Presenting the Certificate of readiness, Alexander Zamotay stressed: "The power engineers have conducted serious and large-scale preparation. The coming winter will assess the progress made. Expecting and hoping for good weather, we wish Tverenergo with honour to operate through the period under any circumstances and weather situations."
