28.08.2014

During the summer holidays specialists of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division pay particular attention to preventive work in children's health camps, summer school grounds, orphanages and boarding schools. For three months they conducted 15 sessions on the prevention of children’s electrical injuries in different parts of the Smolensk region, each of which was attended by 30 to 150 young residents of the Smolensk region.

The power engineers told the children about the rules of behaviour in the vicinity of power installations and the dangers of electric shock, reminded them of the need to exercise caution in dealing with household appliances. Themed movies, games and colorful souvenirs helped consolidate their knowledge. At the end of each lesson the representatives of IDGC of Centre handed educators and teachers leaflets and posters on electrical safety, which are subsequently used for training.

Lessons for prevention of children’s electrical injuries the power engineers organize throughout the year. From January to May Smolenskenergo’s experts conducted more than 70 classes in schools of the region. In September this work will continue. School teachers are unanimous in the opinion that the benefits of electrical safety lessons from Smolenskenergo are large and they must be carried out regularly.

In addition to the organization of classes, the power engineers raise awareness in the media. They place videos to prevent children’s electrical injuries on TV, publish prevention materials of cases of children’s electrical injuries in regional and district newspapers.
