Power engineers of IDGC of Centre restored electricity supply

Yesterday at 06.18 p.m. the control centre of Belgorod Distribution Zone of IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division received a signal about disconnection of four 10 kV cable lines from the 110 kV Substation "Southern" in Belgorod. A first responding mobile crew arrived at the site and revealed damage to one of the cable channels of the substation. In order to perform safe operations on restoration of power equipment other five 10 kV cable lines were de-energized. As a result, a part of the Kharkiv Mountain neighbourhood had no electricity for some time.

4 first responding mobile crews from Belgorod Distribution Zone were used for the power supply with reserve circuits. In addition, four first responding mobile crews with the necessary equipment, vehicles and mechanisms arrived at the place of work within an hour. Power supply of the majority of consumers was restored by 09.57 p.m. By midnight all consumers were powered up.

At the moment the work is being done to restore normal power supply for consumers, a set of early diagnostic measures is being performed to assess the state of the power equipment aimed to ensure uninterrupted power supply of the regional centre in the future.

The 110 kV Substation "Southern" provides electricity to the southern part of the city of Belgorod. In accordance with the long-term target program IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division for 2017 has planned a comprehensive reconstruction of the feeding centre with the replacement of all power equipment and outgoing lines.
