31.07.2014

In connection with the heat developed in the territory of the Central District IDGC of Centre - Lipetskenergo division introduced special control over operation of the distribution grid equipment. Several branches are operating in the same mode.

At present, specialists of the branch perform additional inspections of electrical installations and power lines. Particular attention is given to verify the operation of oil-filled equipment of 35-110 kV substations. The power engineers are also checking working capacity and efficiency of cooling systems of power transformers. Operators continuously monitor electrical load on lines and transformers.

At power facilities of the branches fire safety measures have been enhanced - they have checked the firefighting condition of facilities, equipment and health of the primary means of extinguishing fire, availability of water supply, the state of access roads to water sources and fire hydrants. In addition, the power engineers of Lipetskenergo tightened their control of the fire situation in exclusion zones of high-voltage power lines to prevent possibility of fire movement to power facilities.

For prompt removal of possible technological failures the branch has organized duty of decision makers, mobile and additional crews. Interaction with the Staff of the Upper Don PMES and contractors has been set up.

According to the Hydrometeorological Centre the hot weather will continue in the region for the next 5 days.

Lipetskenergo warns residents of the Lipetsk region to follow the rules of conduct in exclusion zones of power facilities. In the exclusion zones it is strictly forbidden to make fire, store fuel and lubrication materials, place household waste and rubbish near substations and power lines. Ignoring the rules of conduct in the exclusion zones of power facilities is likely to endanger the lives of people, as well as lead to disturbances in the normal operation of the electric grid complex.
