The territory of City Distribution Zone of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division became the venue of an opening event of a labour season of the student group "Energy 2014" at facilities of the electric grid complex. 16 students majoring energy at Kostroma State Agricultural Academy (KGSKHA) will work at Kostromaenergo this summer. During their work at students’ construction crews the future power engineers will receive practical experience in repair, construction, jobs related to provision of fire safety at substations, cables laying, preparation data for grid connection contracts. The main purpose of the construction crew work organization is to ensure practical orientation of training students of power specialties, their professional guidance to work at the company, reviving traditions of labour education of the youth.
The event was opened by Deputy Director of Technical Issues, Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division Evgeny Smirnov. In his welcoming speech he wished the students success in their work and noted the professional orientation, social and labour adaptation of the students, as well as further attraction of young professionals to work in the power industry as an important component of the activity.
"This non-standard interaction with a specialized technical institution of higher education is a unique opportunity for students to adapt to the future profession, to apply theoretical knowledge in practice," stressed Head of Human Resources of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division Nadezhda Muravyeva "The students’ construction crew work organization for us is an efficient tool to create personnel reserve, which allows to notice prospective, active and interested young professionals."
Rector of KGSKHA Sergey Zudin also addressed with a parting word to the participants of the students’ construction crews: "The crew took the title "Energy" not accidentally, it is a legend, a tribute to our comrades who were at the origin of this crew. So I think that it is symbolical to renew the students’ construction crew movement named "Energy" just in the year of the 70th anniversary of our region and the 65th anniversary of our academy." After performance of the students’ construction crew anthem, which they composed themselves for the beginning of their practice, there was a presentation of labour permits to each of them. Then the Kostroma power engineers, representatives of the Youth Council gave them a guided tour in the Grid Control Centre of the branch, the history museum of the Kostroma power system and the Customer Service Centre of Kostromaenergo. This allowed the future power engineers from the first day to feel a sense of involvement into the corporate culture and traditions of the city-forming enterprise, where they will work.
It is worth emphasizing that in 2014 Russia launched the fifth season of students’ construction crews of the electric grid complex. This work is done in the country under the auspices of JSC "Russian Grids". For the first time at the state level the decision to create construction crews to work at economic assets was adopted in 1958. Thus, the history of students’ construction crews totals 55 years.
