Power engineers of Bryanskenergo commemorated victims of the Great Patriotic War

23.06.2014

Staff of IDGC of Centre — Bryanskenergo division June 22, the Day of Memory and Grief, attended a meeting dedicated to the 73rd anniversary of the Great Patriotic War. The meeting was held in the memorial complex "Guerrilla Glade" - the place where in September 1941, on the eve of the Nazi occupation, partisan detachments of the Bryansk land started fighting.

The commemorations began at four o'clock in the morning with the warning bell. Then, memorable music and poetry sounded on the site of the Eternal Flame, and the meeting’s participants lit candles of memory. Archbishop of Bryansk and Sevsk Alexander celebrated the Divine Liturgy and memorial litany of victims of the Great Patriotic War. At the end of the meeting the power engineers along with hundreds of residents of the Bryansk land honoured with a minute of silence the memory of those killed in battles and laid flowers at the Eternal Flame.

"Participation in the meeting of memory and grief is of great importance for employees and veterans of Bryanskenergo. We are indebted to those who were tested with the war beyond belief," stressed Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Bryanskenergo division director Roman Stefanov. "By participating in the solemn meeting we once again have paid tribute to those who will always be for us an example of heroism!"
