Yarenergo identified the best electricians

IDGC of Centre - Yarenergo division held its annual competitions of professional skills. They were attended by crews for repair and maintenance of distribution networks of Distribution Zones of the branch, Yargorelectroset and JSC "YarEGC".

The competitions were held in the town of Rostov on the site of the training centre of City Distribution Zone. The crews had to go through four stages: knowledge of the applicable rules, regulations and instructions on the core functionality of the crews; helping an injured with electric shock on the pole and first aid provision; replacement of a defective insulator and fire-fighting at a transformer substation. Such situations may arise in real life, and every power engineer needs to know how to get out of them.

Professional knowledge and skills of power engineers were estimated by responsible leaders of relevant departments of Yarenergo. In this they were assisted by representatives of the Veterans ‘Council of the company.

According to the results of all four phases the highest number of points was scored by the team of Rybinsk Distribution Zone. As the winner of the regional stage they will defend the honour of the Yaroslavl branch at competitions of professional skills of IDGC of Centre in July this year. Excellent vocational training, a high level of mutual understanding, mutual assistance and coordination of the actions of all members of the crew help them not for the first time to become the leader of the professional skills competitions.

The second place went to the team of Danilov. The team of Tutaevsky Distribution Zone yielded the third place to the team of Gavrilov-Yamsky Distribution Zone with a difference of one point. The "Best Electrician" was awarded to Alexander Kuznetsov of Gavrilov-Yamsky Distribution Zone. Deputy Head of Distribution Networks Office of Yarenergo Mikhail Aganin was recognized as the best judge.

As generally agreed by the Judges, each contestant demonstrated high professional level, showed himself fit both in the team and individual competition. As a result, all members of the competing teams received prizes and certificates of participants.

Contests and tests of professionalism are necessary for any large enterprise, and IDGC of Centre pays serious attention to this aspect. They prove that the company is ready to tackle the most difficult tasks, to act quickly in emergency situations.

"The professional skills competitions are held throughout the power grid and finish at the level of JSC Russian Grids. Their goal is to hone production skills, enhance the overall level of professionalism, exchange experience. In addition, such competitions are needed in order to have employees elaborate their team spirit and desire for leadership. Be the first is a strategy across our company and employees must follow it," stressed Acting Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Yarenergo division director.
