Alleys of Kostroma power engineers were replenished with new trees

Kostroma power engineers of IDGC of Centre took part in the All-Russian campaign of planting trees "Let’s save the energy of the forest". Staff of units of Kostromaenergo, as well as all Distribution Zones, together with representatives of municipal administrations, schoolchildren and college students, community organizations annually participate in the environmental action, organized on the initiative of JSC "Russian Grids".

Students and professors of higher educational institutions, students of colleges, as well as veterans of Kostromaenergo took part in the traditional action of landscaping the hometown in Kostroma together with the power engineers. The alley of power engineers in the square next to the Regional Philharmonic was founded in 2012. Annually it is replenished with new trees and shrubs. This year, young maples and birches were added to the grown from previous years ash trees.

In total during the campaign in the region around 1,000 saplings were planted. The species composition includes spruce, pine, birch, larch, rowan, ash, as well as fruit trees. "Participation in the Tree Planting Day has long been a tradition for workers of Kostromaenergo," says the head of the administrative staff of the branch director Gennady Bobkov, "this celebration involves not only the employees of the Executive Office and Distribution Zones, but also veterans of the enterprise. We choose for planting trees, well sustaining our climate, so most of the seedlings take root and beautify our city. Most importantly, so that the citizens to take care of the trees, well, and the nature, hopefully, will be favourable to the plants."
