Employees of Kurskenergo won the third place in a chess tournament among trade union organizations of the Kursk region

Head of technical and production control of Kurskenergo Mikhail Loktionov and Chief of Fatezhsky Distribution Zone of Kurskenergo Boris Shentsev won bronze medals at the annual chess tournament for the prizes of the Federation of trade union organizations of the Kursk region in the team of the regional organization of the public association "Russian Electric Trade Union".

Competitions were held in late March. 6 teams of three persons each participated in them, representing unions of communication, power industry, defense and agricultural sectors, public education. The tournament was held in rounds where everyone played with everyone. After reaching three wins, our colleagues ensured their team the third place. As a reward the prize winners received diplomas and monetary prizes.

Mikhail Loktionov and Boris Shentsev are numerous participants of large corporate chess competitions. In 2009 at the first Winter Olympics of IDGC of Centre Michael won the first place on his board, and Boris - the third one. A year later, thanks to them, the team of Kurskenergo won a confident victory in the Second Winter Olympics of the company.

The chess tournament for the prize of the Federation of trade union organizations of the Kursk region has been held for 20 years. During this time, it was attended by about 1,000 members of trade union organizations, a large part of which were representatives of Kurskenergo.

"Kurskenergo is an active participant and winner of various sports competitions held in the Kursk region, including those under the auspices of the Federation of trade union organizations," stressed Chairman of the Regional Committee of "Electric Trade Union" Gennady Demekhin. "Competitions provide employees with an opportunity to express themselves, to obtain experience of others, motivate them to for a good result at work."
