In the first half of 2014 IDGC of Centre – Belgorodenergo division will ensure grid connection to networks of new developers of the individual housing neighbourhood "Southwest 2.2" in Belgorod. The micro-district is located on the outskirts of the regional centre and can accommodate about two thousand people. Currently, it is under development.
To power supply the expanding neighbourhood Belgorodenergo is constructing two 10 kV cable lines with a total length of about 17 km and a 0.4 kV overhead line. Simultaneously the power engineers are installing outdoor lighting networks with modern energy saving lighting fixtures with HPS lamps, which will be managed through an automated system. In addition to "smart lighting" there will be another package transformer substation of a kiosk type.
During the construction metering and electrical switchboards, couplings and cable with XLPE insulation used, which are more reliable in terms overloads and short circuits. Overhead lines are installed using reliable and safe self-supporting insulated wire.
Upon completion of construction and installation work the "Southwest 2.2" will be powered by a dual-linear scheme to enhance the reliability of power supply of all residents of the neighbourhood.
Thirty new plots for individual housing construction in this district were given out at the end of last year according to the regional development program for individual housing construction in the region. Electricity supply is provided by the district 0.4-10 kV electrical networks with a total length of over 35 km. In the future it is planned to build an elementary school and a kindergarten, a sports and leisure complex, hospitals and various trading enterprises.
