Lipetsk power engineers participated in the regional command and staff training

Power engineers of IDGC of Centre — Lipetskenergo division took part in a large-scale command and staff training aimed at practicing actions of management bodies and forces of territorial and functional subsystems of the Lipetsk region for the Prevention and Elimination of Consequences of technological disruptions caused by road accidents on the federal highway M- 4 «Don».

For the event a section of the road on the 437th kilometre of the federal highway M-4 «Don» was selected near the settlement of Danshino in the Lipetsk region on the border of Klevensky and Zadonsky districts with high intensity of traffic flows. It made it possible to create training conditions as close to reality.

According to the training legend, because of a large amount of precipitation on the federal highway there was a traffic accident that caused a major traffic jam.

Liquidation of the process violation not only demanded immediate concerted actions of representatives of management bodies and forces of territorial and functional subsystems of the Lipetsk region for the Prevention and Elimination of Consequences of technological disruptions, but also setting up an autonomous town of life support with food points, heating, medical care, as well as places for the deployment of management bodies and protection of public order agencies. To supply power to the tent town the power engineers of IDGC of Centre used a standalone diesel generator of 100 kW.

The event participants coped with all the tasks set successfully. The actions of the power engineers deserved special thanks from the head of the training — Head of EMERCOM of Russia in the Lipetsk region Mikhail Salfetnikov.

In addition, at the training venue vehicles of EMERCOM of Russia in the Lipetsk region, Administration of roads and transport in the Lipetsk region, and forces and means of rescue units and municipal districts were demonstrated.

«The problems in ensuring safety of life on federal highways in emergencies, caused by severe weather conditions, were demonstrated during last December’s events in the Tver and Novgorod regions. Then the heavy snowfalls and icy conditions led to almost two hundred kilometer congestion on the federal highway M-10 „Russia“. To prevent such situations a range of measures were developed, including, the holding of such command and staff trainings,» commented the head of the department for mobilization and civil defense of Lipetskenergo Sergey Shutov.
