Kostroma power engineers of IDGC of Centre increase the reliability of power supply in the region

02.07.2013

IDGC of Centre — Kostromaenergo division is upgrading 0.4 kV distribution networks. Major modernization began in the Kostroma region in the village of Chernopenye. The picturesque settlement on the bank of the Volga river is electricity supplied with an overhead power line, constructed in the 70s. The power engineers will replace about 5 km of bare wire with safe and reliable SIW (self-supporting insulated wire), and install 175 new poles.

In addition, in 2013, the branch will upgrade networks in Pyschugsky, Neysky, Ponazyrevsky and Manturovsky districts of the Kostroma region. At all the reconstructed facilities old wooden poles will be replaced with reinforced concrete, in total more than 20 km of self-supporting insulated wire will be installed.

«10-0.4 kV networks are usually the most problematic in terms of reliability and wear. The task of Kostromaenergo is quality power supply of consumers across the Kostroma region. To do this, we are currently reconstructing the given networks with the most modern equipment that meets all the requirements of reliability,» says Deputy Chief Engineer — Head distribution networks of IDGC of Centre — Kostromaenergo division Alexander Chutkov.
