Lipetskenergo increases the stability of the power grid complex

28.06.2013

In 2013, under the Target program to improve reliability for 2011 −2015 at 18 substations of IDGC of Centre — Lipetskenergo division some spot replacement of obsolete equipment will be performed, which is significant in ensuring the sustainability of the power grid of the region. Instead of morally and technically obsolete isolating switches, short-circuiting switches and oil circuit breakers at the substations 113 modern vacuum and 6-110 kV gas-insulated switches will be installed that are more reliable and efficient. In parallel more than 223 relay protection and automation devices will be being installed.

For the purpose of immediate operational control at five substations of Lipetskenergo «Khlevnoe», «Yarlukovo», «Agronomy», «Mud-city» and «Matyra» substation control rooms will be installed, representing a package building to house equipment. The substation control room modules will have all relay protection, automation and control gear, as well as batteries and operating current control devices.

For the realization of the activities mentioned Lipetskenergo will spend more than 76 million rubles this year.

The reconstruction, performed by power engineers of Lipetskenergo, which is based on application of modern equipment, contributes, above all, to improvement of the reliability of the energy complex, and lowering accidents. Thus, for the current year the accident rate of the branch fell by 52.5% compared to the same period in 2012, and the transmission and distribution losses did not exceed the targets. Important evidence of the effectiveness of the new approach was also the reduction of time of interruptions in the power supply of consumers from 2.8 to 2 hours.

«The reconstruction of the substation, which will be completed by October 15, will be an important contribution to preparations for the autumn-winter operation period, and increase the reliability for consumers,» stressed Deputy Director for Technical Issues — Chief Engineer Alexander Kornilov.
