In Vitebsk district of Belarus the third international meeting of the youth of IDGC of Centre — Smolenskenergo division and the Republican Unitary Enterprise «Vitebskenergo» was hosted. The event was held to exchange experiences of power engineers in the field of innovation and production activities, the development of scientific potential of young people.
The interaction of IDGC of Centre — Smolenskenergo division and «Vitebskenergo» has been going on for several years. In autumn 2011, in Vitebsk district of Belarus the first international meeting of young people of the two companies was hosted, a year later Vitebskenergo’s young people came to the Smolensk land for a return visit.
Last weekend the young power engineers participated in round tables on issues of personnel policy, education, training and re-training of staff, working out practical skills of young professionals in the workplace.
For the Smolensk residents a tour of Vitebsk was held, during which the young power engineers could see not only the main sights of the city, but also lay a wreath at some war memorials.
The Russian guests especially remembered visiting Vitebskenergo’s training centre that provides educational, decorating and printing services. Education is conducted here on making groups in different specialties, for any of these there are classrooms to work out practical skills, a big training ground for competitions of power engineers, as well as training grounds — outdoors (at which professional skills competitions are organized and held) and indoors (to be able to practice skills in maintenance of distribution networks in all kinds of weather).
In Rubovsky Distribution Zone the power engineers were able to see production facilities, a control room, staff offices, a training centre, premises of the Distribution Zone, and spoke with the head of the Distribution Zone on the organization of the grid connection procedure for consumers in the Rubovsky Distribution Zone of Vitebskenergo, on the implementation of an electricity metering system, and measures to reduce losses.
The program of the gathering also included friendly competitions of mixed teams in volleyball and soccer, visiting the sponsored by Vitebskenergo orphanage where young professionals of Smolenskenergo were able to communicate with children, going to a kindergarten prom, to give gifts to graduates of a school.
After the meeting the power engineers exchanged gifts and outlined in the work plans a return visit of the Vitebsk youth to the Smolensk land in a year.
«Young people of the two friendly countries met to discuss the production processes in their companies, which are different with ongoing technical policy, the organization of training and retraining of staff, as well as different approaches to the social sphere. Pros and cons are only visible in comparison, and that was the main goal of this event. At the end of the gathering the Youth Council of Smolenskenergo is preparing proposals to the management to improve the production activities. We are also beginning to work on projects for youth grants of the President and the Government of the Russian Federation with a view to developing cooperation in the energy field of the youth of Belarus and Russia,» commented Chairman of the Youth Council of IDGC of Centre — Smolenskenergo division Alexey Magon.
