Lipetsk power engineers held a firefighting training at the 110 kV substation «Cement»

At the substation 110 kV «Cement» a routine firefighting training was held for staff of operational and technological Service and substation Service of IDGC of Centre — Lipetskenergo division and fire Service of the territorial unit of General Directorate of EMERCOM of Russia in the Lipetsk region.

Its goal was working out joint actions in the event of fire and extinguishing the fire at power equipment. In order to identify the reasons that could complicate the job of fire suppression the training scenario was as realistic as possible. According to the scenario, at 10:00 am, during the morning peak consumption, at the substation «Cement» transformer T2 was short-circuited with the release and ignition of oil, causing the risk of further spread of the fire to two other transformers. Conventionally de-energized consumers were one of the oldest districts of the city of Lipetsk «Falcon» and one of the largest industrial enterprises in the city CJSC «Lipetskcement».

In these circumstances the power engineers demonstrated their worked out information exchange between the operation services of Lipetskenergo and territorial bodies of EMERCOM, as well as clear steps to assess the situation, set objectives and take immediate decisions for emergency elimination, involving the threat of fire.

The event ended with a summary meeting, during which the commander of the fire team of General Directorate of EMERCOM in the Lipetsk region positively evaluated the actions of the power engineers of Lipetskenergo.
