Kurskenergo increases productive supply of electric energy

30.04.2013

The electricity supply to the grid of IDGC of Centre — Kurskenergo division for the first quarter of this year amounted to 1,571.9 million kW/h. At the same time the productive supply indicator reached 1,441.2 million kW/h or 11.5 million kW/h higher than last year.

The increase of the volume of productive electricity supply is due to the implementation of a set of measures to reduce losses in the networks of the branch. In the first quarter of 2013, staff of Kurskenergo took over 210,000 control readings at residential customers. For customers’ convenience, this work was performed mainly at weekends.

Switching off transformers for reserve at substations with two transformers in the operation modes of small loads helps reduce losses as well. In the first quarter of 2013, Kurskenergo in accordance with the schedule switched off 14 transformers.

Replacing bare aluminum wires with self-supporting insulated wires made it more difficult for unauthorized connections to the line. As a result of such constant work the electricity losses in networks of the branch in the first quarter of 2013 decreased compared to the same period of the previous year by more than 2%.
