Engineer of relay protection and automation of IDGC of Centre — Yarenergo Vladimir Potapov was awarded the title «Honoured Power Engineer of the Russian Federation». The decree on awarding was signed by the Russian President on March 25 this year.
Vladimir has devoted more than 30 years of life the Yaroslavl power system. He witnessed a significant improvement of the system of relay protection in the electric grid complex and many times was involved in implementing the new relay protection and automation at feeding centres in the Yaroslavl region. Mr. Potapov participated in setting up automation of overhead power lines from the substation «Shestikhino» on the basis of the terminal REL-511, in the implementation of microprocessor-IMF-3P devices for line fault location and reconstruction of relay protection and automation at the substation «South». In addition, the Yaroslavl power engineer regularly makes up testing programs of relay protection and automation equipment and is involved in commissions of process failures investigation.
High professionalism and experience allows him to work with the most sophisticated equipment and act as a mentor to younger colleagues. In the management's opinion, an essential quality of the staff member is a responsible approach to solving any production issues. For his dedicated work, Vladimir Potapov was given Honorary Diplomas of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the Governor of the Yaroslavl region. Assigning the highest industry award highlights his invaluable contribution to the development of the regional energy sector.
