The past in IDGC of Centre — Lipetskenergo division Safety Day was another event for complex problem solving to prevent staff injuries. Similar events are held monthly at the branch in order to verify the structural departments for regulatory compliance in the operation of electrical installations.
In the course of the Safety Day technical specialists of Lipetskenergo checked structural departments on the timeliness and quality of instructions with the staff, as well as maintaining appropriate logs. In accordance with the «Rules of work with staff in organizations of the power industry of the Russian Federation» Lipetskenergo does all types of instructions — introductory, primary at the workplace, repeated, unexpected and targeted. Those persons who have demonstrated in the course of instructing poor knowledge are not allowed to work independently and are obliged to pass an instruction again.
Close attention was paid to studying with staff information notices on safety, review of accidents in the power industry, which is one of the most hazardous economic sectors. Analysis of such facts helps to improve staff knowledge on the safe organization of work and use of protective equipment.
At the end of the event several shortcomings were revealed that will be addressed on a mandatory basis and within the set term by the Commission to hold Safety Days.
«Regular monitoring of the implementation of necessary measures for safety, compliance of personnel with required safety standards helps to minimize the risks of accidents and increases the level of operational discipline,» stressed the head of production control and safety Office Maxim Yashin.
