Kostroma power engineers of IDGC of Centre energized the overhead line "Zavolzhskaya — 1,2"

10.01.2013

IDGC of Centre — Kostromaenergo division completed the scheduled work on the reconstruction of the overhead line 110 kV “Zavolzhskaya — 1,2”.

Narrow base metal poles and wires, the lifecycle of which had expired, were replaced with modern multi-faceted poles and greater section wires that meet high standards of reliability and quality of electric power transmission. According to the reconstruction plan 26 metal multi-faceted and 14 metal lattice poles were installed. In 2013, other 27 metal lattice and 45 multi-faceted metal poles will be installed.

Until the end of the year the wire with a total length of about 22.8 km will be replaced all over the ROW of the power line. Within the project in 2013 overhangs will be modernized to the most important city 110 kV substations “North” and “Central”, which will improve the reliability of electricity supply for a greater part of the city of Kostroma.

“We are performing a large-scale reconstruction of the main power arteries of the regional centre: high-voltage power lines of 110 kV ‘Motordetal — Kostroma’, as well as the 110 kV power line ‘Zavolzhskaya — 1,2 circuit’, — says Deputy Chief Engineer and Head of high-voltage grid Office of IDGC of Centre — Kostromaenergo division Evgeny Kozlov. — The project, which is for a two-year run, began in 2012 with the installation of new poles, replacing wires and insulation elements. As a result, we will significantly increase the transmission capacity of these lines, reduce maintenance costs and create a substantial reserve of electrical power for the regional centre.”
