IDGC of Centre — Kurskenergo division traditionally on the eve of the Power Engineers’ Day holds an Open Doors Day. In all thirty Distribution Zones of the branch for pupils and students of educational institutions meetings with power engineers and excursions to power facilities were organized. More than three hundred children got acquainted with the history of the Kursk region power system and the activities of the Kursk branch of IDGC of Centre.
During a tour at the 110/35/10 kV substation “White” high schoolchildren of “Belovskaya secondary school” with their own eyes saw how the modern supply centre operates, which equipment is installed to improve the reliability of power supply and staff safety.
In the control room of Ryilsky Distribution Zone the young guests were demonstrated how the state of the electric grid of the whole district is controlled.
Freshmen of the Kursk Electromechanical College were able to see the grid of the entire Kursk region at a glance. They visited the Grid Control Centre of Kurskenergo, which after its reconstruction, became one of the most modern in Russia, combining the most advanced technologies. The students were told that thanks to the emerged innovations Kursk power engineers can now be more responsive to possible technological failures and interruptions, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of electricity supply in the region.
These meetings contribute to the professional orientation of young people, and they are of a preventive nature. Taking this opportunity power engineers remind students of safe behaviour in the vicinity of power facilities.

Over the past two years the company has employed 40 young professionals who graduated from Southwest State University, Kursk State Agricultural Academy, Kursk Railway College, and other educational institutions.
