Orelenergo reminds of the prohibition of work performance in a buffer zone of power lines without the consent with power engineers

06.11.2012

IDGC of Centre — Orelenergo division warns: any activities in the buffer zones of power lines should be performed only after receiving written permission of power engineers. Unauthorized activity can lead not only to interruptions of power supply, but also to accidents.

Thus, the work, which was recently performed in the Orel region without permission of Orelenergo, ended in tragedy. A machine operator of one of the local surveying companies for drilling water wells inadvertently touched overhead line voltage of 10 kV with the mast and had electric shock. Fortunately, he survived, but was hospitalized with severe burns.

Power engineers once again remind that the current legislation sets minimum distances from electrical networks to buildings and structures. For high voltage lines of 10 kV the buffer zone is 10 m, for 35 kV conductors - 15 m, and for 110 kV - 20 meters.

On receiving the work permit you may contact the toll-free multi-channel telephone of power engineers at 8-800-50-50-115.
