Belgorodenergo is upgrading its remote control system at 12 substations in the region

Until the end of the year IDGC of Centre — Belgorodenergo division under the target program to increase the reliability is reconstructing the remote control system at 12 high-voltage substations in the region. Power engineers are replacing obsolete equipment with modern remotely-controlled cabinets that will improve the efficiency of electric grid management. For 2013 it is planned to reconstruct remote control systems at 7 substations of 35-110 kV and a 10 kV distribution point in Belgorod.

Remote control system — a complex of modern microprocessor-based devices, data from which provides automated operational management of distribution electrical networks and online monitoring of power facilities operation. Thanks to remote control devices operators of the Grid Control Centre of Belgorodenergo operate substations remotely.

Modern remote control systems allow to receive real-time information on critical parameters such as the voltage, power consumption, frequency of electric current, and to monitor the status of the equipment in substations and switch electrical installations remotely. But the main advantage of such systems — their high efficiency for the reliability of electricity supply. Remote control systems greatly increase the speed of response to possible emergency situations and reduce the restoration time of electricity supply during power cuts.

Today Belgorodenergo has remotely controlled all substations of 35-110 kV, 70% of distribution substations of 6-10 kV, 29 transformer substations of 10-0.4 kV, and 28 reclosers — devices that allow in the event of damage to the line automatically to open only a small section of the network and to minimize the number of disconnected consumers. In addition, for efficient outdoor lighting operation 2117 automated control cabinets are used in the region.
