Kostroma power engineers of IDGC of Centre received the thanks from Governor of the Kostroma region

For fast work to restore electricity supply in the municipalities of the Kostroma region, cut off due to adverse weather conditions on 29-30 September 2012, power engineers of IDGC of Centre — Kostromaenergo division received appreciation from Governor Sergey Sitnikov during an online meeting.

On the night of 28 to 29 September heavy rain and squally wind storm caused a power failure in 12 districts of the Kostroma region. Suffered Krasnoselsky, Kostromsky, Makariyevsky, Buisky, Ostrovsky, Parfenyevsky, Antropovsky, Nerekhtsky and other districts were affected.

Power engineers of Kostromaenergo immediately began to restore the power supply. At 6.00 am on 29 September IDGC of Centre — Kostromaenergo division gathered operational headquarters, which controlled the restoration operations.

22 crews and 23 special vehicles required were involved in the work. The power supply had been completely restored by 6 p.m. on September 29.

“The struggle with the effects of natural phenomena is still actual and imminent during the autumn-winter period, — says Deputy Director for Technical Issues — Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre — Kostromaenergo division Evgeny Smirnov. — Skills to eliminate process failures on networks the power engineers worked out during interagency exercises of emergency response at low temperatures with the TCC, EMERCOM, VOPMS, and administration of the Kostroma region. Workers of Kostromaenergo are provided with necessary special vehicles and equipment for restoration operations. The emergency reserve is staffed by 100%. We are ready for the tests of natural phenomena.”
