Vehicles of Kostroma power engineers are under the satellite control

14.09.2012

To succeed in the autumn-winter period operation IDGC of Centre — Kostromaenergo division is mobilizing all resources. One important aspect of preparation for the autumn-winter period is to improve the vehicles of the branch. The whole fleet of Kostromaenergo is equipped with sensors that will, at any time, not only allow to determine the location of each vehicle, but also to record other parameters such as fuel consumption or engine running time. Such measures will minimize the time of arrival of mobile crews of the branch to the work area, which is especially important in a period of low temperatures.

The equipment of the branch with the modern system of vehicle monitoring began at the end of 2010. The system of GLONASS/GPS monitoring and control of vehicles “AutoTracker” allows to visually check on electronic maps the location and movement of all vehicles of the branch, record daily mileage exactly, movement trajectory and fuel consumption. In the cabin there is a button that allows the driver to signal the emergence of fault in a car or other emergency situations.

Special equipment was installed at 370 vehicles of the branch, including bucket trucks, vehicles for transporting first responding mobile crews, tractors, trucks, mobile electric laboratories and other equipment. In each of the four sites of Kostromaenergo (Central, Galichsky, Neysky and Sharyinsky districts) assigned technicians monitor the vehicles in terms of compliance with the schedule and route of movement and quickly respond to signals from crews. In this case, the monitoring system can generate standard and custom reports, present a complete picture of the use of vehicles in subdivisions of the company and its branch in general. Thanks to this, the operator can track the movement of crews make a replacement, move crews of the surrounding districts. All this is also aimed at reduction of the time to eliminate operation failures.
