Kostroma power engineers of IDGC of Centre started the reconstruction of the two key substations in Buiskiy district

IDGC of Centre — Kostromaenergo division began a comprehensive reconstruction of the substations (SS) 110 kV “Buiy (Rural)” and “West”, located in Buiskiy district near Kostroma. These power facilities feed the largest part of the district center and the surrounding area. In addition, they supply electricity to a large number of infrastructure facilities: two military units, municipal boiler houses, educational institutions, a boarding school and others. The reconstruction of the substations is part of the investment program of the branch.

The modernization of these substations is part of the program implementation on the system for the collection and transmission of information. According to the project, the reconstructed facilities will have additional gas-insulated 110 kV current transformers installed. It is also planned to implement new equipment to organize channels of operators’ communications and transmission of telemetry data. In total in 2012 six substations will be reconstructed according to the program on the system for the collection and transmission of information.

Implemented systems will perform information monitoring, control, alarm of the substations. The system for the collection and transmission of information provide collection, processing and transmission of data information to Kostroma TCC and Grid Control Center of Kostromaenergo. The main objectives of the program on the system for the collection and transmission of information are to increase the observability of power facilities and modernization of the functioning, operation and development of electric grids.
