Kursk power engineers conducted an electrical safety lesson for teachers

03.09.2012

On the eve of September 1 in high school # 25 of Kursk a teachers’ meeting was held, at which more than 100 teachers discussed the readiness of educational institutions for the new school year. Innovation was the fact that experts of IDGC of Centre — Kurskenergo division took part in the event for the first time.

The power engineers told the teachers about the dangers that lie in wait for children and adults under conditions of poor behavior in the vicinity of power facilities, improper handling of electrical appliances at home, showed a video on the rules of electrical safety.

Teachers shared their plans and proposals, in particular to hold a competition among teachers of the region for the best lesson or extra-curricular activities on electrical safety. All the participants were unanimous in the view that children should know how dangerous electrical current was, why not approach power equipment — climb a pole, touch wires, enter into premises of substations.

Deputy Director for educational work Margarita Yudina emphasized: “The Day of Knowledge with congratulations and parting words teachers always remind children of electrical safety. We are grateful to Kurskenergo for the valuable lesson and look forward to working together to prevent children’s electrical injuries.”

In 2012, more than 300 students in the schools of Kursk and Kursk region were involved in the safety lessons of Kursk power engineers. 100 children got acquainted with the rules of behaviour in the vicinity of power facilities and handling electrical appliances in children’s health camps.

Plans of specialists of Kurskenergo in the coming months — conducting joint preventive actions with the Committee on Sport, Youth and Tourism, the Committee of Education and Science of the Kursk region, the community of fishermen, and local policemen.
