Yaroslavl power engineers of IDGC of Centre were publicly thanked by Head of Rostov the Great, Yury Boiko. He highly appreciated the contribution of Yarenergo in preparation for the celebration of the 1150th anniversary of the city and outlined the intentions of the district center to continue working together to develop street lighting.
In celebration of the anniversary IDGC of Centre — Yarenergo division installed in Rostov 140 new lighting fixtures, about 140 poles, installed more than 6 km of self-supporting insulated wire (SIW). Work on the reconstruction of the power lines of outdoor lighting was performed in six main streets of the city: Proletarian, District, Lenin, Stone Bridge, Soviet Square and Yaroslavl highway. Also the branch’s power engineer installed lighting in an area of the premises near Gymnasium after A.L. Kekin. In the near future a school stadium will be built on the site.
The plans of the city authorities are to conclude an energy service contract with the Yaroslavl branch of IDGC of Centre. It will provide for modernization of the entire system of street lighting in Rostov in over two years. A total of 1300 lighting fixtures will be replaced. At present, the question is being worked out to have the future upgraded lighting with LED.
“Every second lamp not burning, ramshackle poles were creating an atmosphere of decay in the city. IDGC of Centre Company helped us, and that devastation in the main streets was overcome. The city has changed, and for this I want to say thanks to the energy sector ”, - stressed Yury Boiko at the press conference devoted to the preparation for the anniversary of Rostov.
