Kurskenergo is summing up the first results of the repair program

22.08.2012

Kursk power engineers of IDGC of Centre continue to implement their annual repair program. Many of the activities for the repair, reconstruction and replacement of the equipment have already been completed on schedule: 22 substations of 110-35/10 kV in the Kursk region are ready to take the load of the upcoming autumn and winter period.

The action plan of the repair program was drawn up by specialists of Kurskenergo following the results of a thorough diagnostics.

In order to improve the reliability and security of electricity supply of consumers in the region, social and industrial facilities throughout the Kursk region by now 10 circuit breakers of 110 kV, 43 switches of 35 kV, 100 switches of 10 kV, nearly 150 disconnectors of 110-35 kV have been renovated. The repair work at the substations 35/10 “Guevo”, 35/10 “M. Hooks”, and 35/10 “Lezhenki” has been fully completed.

In August, a comprehensive renovation of the 110/35/10 “Besedino” was completed — the main supply center of the settlement of Besedino in the Kursk region. The substation provides power to a larger part of residential, office buildings, a district hospital and two schools.

The largest facilities of the repair program in 2012 were the 110/35/10 “Olkhovka”, 110/35/10 “Basovo”, and 110/35/10 “Rylsk”. The work was first started at the substation 110/35/10kV “Rylsk”. The reliability and quality of power supply of several districts of the Kursk region depend on this substation: Rylsky, Glushkovsky and Korenevsky.

To improve the reliability and service life of overhead power lines across the Kursk more than 260 km of overhead lines of 35-110 kV and almost 2000 km of 0.4-10 kV were repaired and maintained. In parallel, efforts were made to clear ROWs along overhead power lines. For seven months in 2012 specialists of Kurskenergo and contractors in a manual and mechanized way cleared off trees and shrubs about 96 hectares of ROWs along high voltage 35 — 110 kV power lines and 384 hectares of ROWs along the distribution network of 0.4 — 10 kV.

“The repair program — one of the most important areas in the work of power engineers to prepare energy facilities and maintain their performance in the most responsible for us autumn and winter period. All the work done and still to be performed as planned according to the repair program in 2012 will ensure reliable power supply to customers at low temperatures”, — stressed Deputy Director for Technical Issues — Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre — Kurskenergo division Alexander Rudnevsky.
