On the eve of celebrating the 67th anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War in the Voronezh branch of IDGC of Centre a meeting of war veterans and members of the industry with young employees of Voronezhenergo was held. This festive day was confined to two bright events: the awarding ceremony of the winners of the first round of the All-Russian contest "Engineer of the Year" and the presentation of the book of the historian, writer and honored power engineer of the Russian Federation Leonid Y. Fomenkov "A half-century in the power industry".
By tradition, the meeting was held in the building of the Voronezh Museum of Power Industry. A few dozens of young employees of the executive office of the branch came to the meeting with the veterans. Chairman of the Board of Veterans of IDGC of Centre and Voronezhenergo Vladimir Skrynnikov and Honored Power Engineer of the Russian Federation Leonid Fomenkov told the present about the history of the Voronezh power industry. They talked about the development stages of the energy sector of the Voronezh region, the first substation, the managers of the company and the people, who made a significant contribution to the development of the distribution complex.
In the presence of veterans the awarding ceremony of the winners of the first round of the All-Russian contest "Engineer of the Year 2011" took place. Annually staff of Voronezhenergo participates in this regional contest every year they achieve impressive results. Three employees of the branch defended the honour of Voronezhenero in 2011 and they all became winners of the contest. Engineer of relay protection and automation of the first category of relay protection and emergency control Department of Voronezh section Dmitry Anischenko and Engineer of the first category of diagnostic Service of the branch Oleg Kireev were awarded medals and diplomas of the 3rd degree in the nomination "Electrical and Heat Mechanical Annex" in the category "Engineering art of the young". Also, a medal and a diploma of the 3rd degree in the nomination "Electrical and Heat Mechanical Annex" in the category "Professional Engineers" was won by Leading Engineer of relay protection and automation of relay protection and automation Department of Liskinsky section Evgeny Kuznetsov. The power engineers received awards from the hands of Chairman of the Board of Veterans of IDGC of Centre and Voronezhenergo Vladimir Skrynnikov.
"Congratulations to the veterans of the power industry on the sacred holiday! We are honoured to have you here today. Your heroic work serves as inspiration for the today's younger generation of power engineers who conquer new heights each year"- the winners of the contest thanked the veterans.
In the course of the day there was a meeting of the veterans of the Voronezh power industry with the management of Voronezhenergo. In a good and sincere atmosphere the former employees of Voronezhenergo were able to ask the branch director Ivan Kleymenov all their questions about the veterans' movement, and the work carried out with veterans in the company.
In a solemn ceremony the presentation of a new book by Leonid Fomenkov "A half-century in the power industry" took place. Leonid worked for the Voronezh power grid nearly 43 years, was an eyewitness and participant of many interesting events. It is his career that formed the basis of the book "A half-century in the power industry. People. Time. Events". In the book Leonid covers quite a large part of the historical time from 1958, when he graduated from the Moscow Institute of Mechanization and Electrification of Agriculture, until 2011, when he introduced the chapter entitled "Reflections" into the book about the present time.
"My whole life in the Voronezh power industry is described in this book. In it I talk about the organization of electric grid companies. I share my memories working as Chief Engineer and Head of Voronezh Design Institute. And I dedicate my book of memoirs to my colleagues - power engineers from all corners of our vast Motherland", - Leonid Fomenkov shared his thoughts.
