Tambov power engineers of IDGC of Centre laid a park near the military glory memorial

10.05.2012

On the eve of the 67th anniversary of Great Victory in the framework of the historical and patriotic action “Relay of Victory Banner” staff of IDGC of Centre — Tambovenergo division planted 30 saplings of different species. The new park was laid in the village of Kovylka in Kirsanovsky district of the Tambov region near the memorial to the fallen on the battlefields during World War II.

The monument was opened in October 2011. The idea of erecting the monument belongs to Head of Integrated Management Systems Department of IDGC of Centre — Tambovenergo division Alexander Abramov, the only son of the full Cavalier of the Order of Glory among the residents of the village of Kovylka Mikhail Abramov.

Tambovenergo pays very close attention to patriotic work to perpetuate the memory of soldiers of the Great Patriotic War. The solemn tree planting ceremony in the village of Kovylka was started with bringing in the replica of the Victory Banner, which is stored in the museum of the Tambov power system.

During all the time to erect the monument Tambov power engineers of IDGC of Centre took an active part in all kinds of work. They landscaped the area adjacent to the monument. As part of the action “Save the energy of the forest” representatives of the Youth Council of Tambovenergo and pupils of Kovylskoy secondary school planted spruce seedlings near the monument, which was under construction at that time.

The initiative of Tambov power engineers was actively supported by Head of Kirsanovsky district of the Tambov region Vladimir Khatuntsev, who expressed gratitude to the management of Tambovenergo for a significant contribution to the noble cause of patriotic education of youth and the erection of a memorial in the village of Kovylka. “For several years Tambovenergo has been doing a great job of historical and patriotic education of young people, preservation of the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. Unfortunately, the time is inevitable, fewer soldiers live on. But the memory of the war, its heroic pages shall be transmitted from generation to generation. Therefore, the new park, laid near the monument today, was another step towards perpetuating the memory of soldiers who were born in Tambov”, — said IDGC of Centre — Tambovenergo division director Vladimir Syschikov.

One of the main places in the composition of the memorial is taken by two busts — the hero of the Soviet Union Alexander Suvorov and full Cavalier of the Order of Glory soldier Mikhail Abramov.
