27.04.2012

As part of career-oriented work performed by power engineers of IDGC of Centre, IDGC of Centre — Kostromaenergo division organized a tour to the Grid Control Center for students of Kostroma State Technological University.

Inside the new premises, in which the Grid Control Center moved in December 2011, Deputy Chief of Operation and Technology Group for operations Gennady Poltoratskiy spoke about prospects for supervisory control in the branch, the benefits of modern equipment, which the Centre is equipped with, which is the most technologically advanced in the region.

The students of the specialty “Automation of technological processes and manufacturing” were interested in different issues: the capability of remote control of substations, collection and transmission of operational information, the principles of operational and supervisory services, prevention and elimination of faults. The students took great interest in the video cubes with a normal operation diagram of Kostromaenergo, which allows real-time monitoring the situation with electricity supply of consumers of the Kostroma region, around the clock to control the operation of the equipment of the branch.

The familiarization with the Company continued in the museum of history of the Kostroma power system. Head of Public Relations Office Tatiana Drozdova had an excursion, focusing both on the origins of the energy company in the region and its modern industrial potential. An important component of the tour of the branch was a meeting of the current students of the faculty of automated systems and technology with the graduates, who are currently working at Kostromaenergo.

From 2003 to 2012 eight graduates of the faculty were employed at the energy company. They work as programmers, system administrators, perform technical maintenance of computer equipment, work with the AMR system. Graduate, Engineer of the first category Andrey Mozokhin and Electronics Engineer of automated supervisory systems operation Section Konstantine Dyuzhin, in order to create professional motivation, told the freshmen on the global network of IDGC of Centre, where an SAP AG system is used as the ERP-system. This system provides all the necessary infrastructure for enterprise applications.

A cooperation agreement is signed between Technological University and IDGC of Centre — Kostromaenergo division. Their work includes also joint innovative projects. In particular, in 2011 on the branch’s site some innovation and research work was performed on the construction of an automated control system of the autonomous power supply of the building process, data collection and visualization of technological processes.

In general, the excursion was a link in the chain of joint work. Thus, in early April 2012 a class on electrical safety was conducted with students, and in the summer it is planned to visit an important power facility of the Company — substation “North” as well as the Municipal District of Electrical Networks.

“We are actively cooperating with higher education institutions of the city and region — stressed Head of Human Resources Office of IDGC of Centre — Kostromaenergo division Nadezhda Muravyeva. — It helps to attract the best-trained young specialists in the energy sector and specifically in the Kostroma branch of the Company”.
