Safety of labor, preservation of life and health of the electric grid personnel is one of the priorities of IDGC of Centre in general and Smolenskenergo in particular. In the first quarter of 2012 the branch allocated more than 2.6 million rubles on a set of safety measures for Smolenskenergo employees.
These funds were invested in the measures on the prevention of accidents (600 000 rubles), the acquisition of personal protective equipment, tools and accessories (360 000 rubles), the improvement of working conditions (8.3 thousand rubles) and sanitation measures to prevent diseases in the production (1.7 million rubles).
A system of audits of safety condition in the Districts of Electrical Networks was created. Specially created commissions monitor the implementation of safety rules by the staff. Vehicles are checked daily before leaving for work and on their return, drivers undergo regular medical examinations.
Smolenskenergo specialists constantly monitor the protective equipment and devices for the safe performance of work of crews. Safety Days take place monthly. This is an effective measure on prevention of injuries in the workplace. These checks give the staff an opportunity to evaluate their work and correct any omissions. All these activities allow to keep under review the safety of employees.
