Grid Control Centre of Tverenergo was reconstructed

22.03.2012

IDGC of Centre — Tverenergo division completed the reconstruction of the Grid Control Centre. The reconstruction of the Grid Control Centre of Tverenergo is associated with the organization of two additional workstations for operators.

The organization of additional workstations for operators will allow to transfer operators of remote sites to the Grid Control Centre, with this the control of the 35-110 kV grid and 35-110 kV substation equipment in the Tver region is performed from a single center in the city of Tver. Currently, in addition to operators in the Grid Control Centre, facilities are controlled by operators of six sites of Operation and Technology Service (OTS). After completing all the necessary arrangements and ensuring a sufficient level of remote control of substations, the control over all major equipment will be transferred to four workstations in the Grid Control Centre. This will result in the increase of the observability of the operational state of the grids and their operation modes, getting data fast about technological failures and taking actions to eliminate them.

According to Deputy Chief Engineer for Operation and Technology Management — Head of the Grid Control Centre Vladislav Ostrik, the merge of separate sections of Operation and Technology Services to one location will greatly enhance the efficiency of centralized control over the grids of Tverenergo.

The reconstruction of the Grid Control Centre provides new benefits, expressed in the remote control of remote facilities. There is a capability now to perform switching operations and emergency response directly from the Grid Control Centre without the involvement of operators of OTS. Load monitoring of electrical grids in the single center at different time periods allows performing planned switchings without interruption and with the least inconvenience for consumers.

April 1, 2012 the Grid Control Centre of Tverenergo will celebrate its four years in operation. Today it is the most technologically advanced Grid Control Center in the region. The centralization of functions to control the state of power supply to consumers will allow to make decisions quickly in case of technological failures, which minimizes the duration of emergency situations liquidation.
