In 2012, in accordance with Federal Law # 261 of 23.11.2009 «On energy saving and energy efficiency increase ...», energy audits will be performed at 290 facilities of IDGC of Centre — Belgorodenergo division, located in 22 Districts of Electrical Networks. In total 112 buildings and structures with the floor space of over 50 square meters and 178 substations
Under the federal law, energy audits should be performed once every five years by third parties that are members of self-regulatory organizations, in order to obtain objective data on the amount of energy resources used. As a result of the audit the customer receives an energy certificate and a report on the results of an energy audit containing a list of measures to improve energy efficiency.
The first energy audit was performed in Yakovlevsky District of Electrical Networks last year. According to the internal consumption monitoring, the measures implemented in Yakovlevsky DEN allowed to reduce the consumption of fuel and energy resources, compared to last year, by 16%.

Performance of energy audits is one of the areas of systematic and targeted work, which IDGC of Centre does and, in particular, Belgorodenergo in the direction of energy conservation and energy efficiency improvement. In addition to performing energy audits on their own Company, the reduction of losses in the delivery of electricity is focused upon (the implementation of new energy-saving technologies) and improving the competence of customers in energy conservation.
Thus, in the context of the modernization of equipment Belgorodenergo is implementing a program of energy saving technologies. Performed in the real environment tests will provide an opportunity to select equipment that satisfies all the parameters of reliability and energy efficiency for use in networks of the branch. At present, specialists are starting testing energy-saving technologies for outdoor lighting at Belgorodenergo facilities and, in parallel, on a laboratory bench of the Belgorod State Technological University after V. G. Shukhov. Within a month the operation of high pressure sodium lamps (HPS), control equipment, induction and LED lamps of both domestic and foreign manufacture will be analyzed.
To strengthen the culture of consumers in the area of energy conservation the Center for Energy Efficiency was opened in September last year in the premises of the Customer Service Centre of Belgorodenergo, which clearly and easily provides data on available energy-saving technologies and their application in household and in the industry. Since its creation about 1,500 people have already visited it. As the practice of guided tours demonstrates, more often people are interested in opportunities to save energy resources at home, as well as in the purchase and installation of equipment. In this regard, by 2013 it is planned to create a center for energy efficiency and energy efficiency increase on the site of the innovation center «Aurora Park» in conjunction with satellite companies: suppliers of goods and services in the field of energy conservation.
