The best structural units of occupational health and safety were decided in Kurskenergo

IDGC of Centre — Kurskenergo division summed up the annual review-contest for the best state of safety of structural units of the branch.

Carrying out the contest, which lasted throughout 2011, was aimed at improving safety level and training personnel, improving the level of preventive work to prevent injury to personnel at the branch’s facilities, increasing staff responsibility for compliance with rules and regulations on occupational health and safety.

The main criteria of the participants of the contest evaluation were the absence of accidents caused by personnel, accidents in electrical appliances, road accidents, serious violations of labor discipline.

As a result of the contest Kastorensky DEN was awarded first place among the Districts of Electrical Networks (DEN). Among the sections of the branch the best was Central Section of Power Line Service of High Voltage Grid Office (HVGO). At the end of the contest 109 people were encouraged for their high level of occupational health and safety.

As part of the contest the Office of Production Control and Safety of the branch conducted over 850 inspections of crews at work, during which more than 2,000 comments were detected and eliminated. The Contest Commission also assessed the availability and quality of technical documentation, taking preventive measures, proper state of equipment, and condition of lifting mechanisms.

More than 30 million rubles were spent on performance of safety measures in Kurskenergo in 2011, a large part of which — to provide employees with personal protective equipment and special clothing, including the one that is resistant to electric arcing.

“Ensuring safe working conditions, health care and life of employees is one of the priorities of IDGC of Centre — Kurskenergo division, — stressed Deputy Director for Technical Issues — Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre — Kurskenergo division Alexander Rudnevsky. — Measures to improve safety contribute to quality performance of operation tasks, increase equipment reliability, and reliability of electricity supply to consumers”.
