In 2011, power engineers of IDGC of Centre — Smolenskenergo division fully performed their obligations on technological connection of electric installations of consumers to the grid of Smolenskenergo. Over the past year the branch executed 2141 contracts for technological connection — the indicator is by 109.9% more than in 2010.
Of the total volume of executed contracts 1639 were concluded with natural persons with the power of 14.8 MW. The total capacity of connected facilities was 44.7 MW, the revenues from services — 69.5 million rubles. The most active in the field of technological connection is still the private housing construction and small businesses.
During the reporting period a number of large facilities was connected, including an industrial and warehouse complex (1940 kW), a shopping center with parking of vehicles (950 kW). During the reporting period experts of Smolenskenergo supplied electricity to infrastructure facilities. Among them: SRSE “Rehabilitation center for children and adolescents with disabilities “Cherry” with its power of 495 kW, a water tower of MUE "Spring“(6 kW), a block-modular boiler-house in Khokhlovsky school (13 kW), a center for people with poor cerebral and mental development “Clear springs” (15 kW), a building of the Smolensk Regional Institute of Pathology (10 kW), boilers for Administrations of Velizh (40 kW) and Gagarin (10 kW) urban settlements and facilities of the Russian Orthodox Church as well. In 2011 the branch connected Baltutinskaya municipal secondary school (75.3 kW) and a kindergarten for 150 children of RSE “Capital Construction Office of the Smolensk region” (161 kW) to its grid.

During the discussion power engineers talk about the intricacies of the state legislative framework for technological connection, how to connect and pay for connection. The number of applications for technological connection constantly grows, seminars and workshops on the subject are actively attended by representatives of businesses and individuals. It shows steady growth in consumer demand for technological connection that is beneficial to the social and economic development of the region.
