Voronezhenergo improves the reliability of the electric grid

26.01.2012

Extending ROWs along overhead power lines — one of the most pressing problems in the work of Voronezh power engineers of IDGC of Centre. For 2011 specialists of IDGC of Centre — Voronezhenergo division expanded 440 hectares of ROWs along conductors, higher in performance for 2010 by 1.5 times.

Voronezhenergo has a developed and agreed with the administration of the Voronezh region long-term ROW expansion program, which in the long term will significantly increase the reliability of electricity supply to consumers. According to the program until 2015 in the Voronezh region 1637.1 hectares of ROWs along its power lines are to be expanded. About 250 million rubles will be spent on it.

“The ROW expansion reduces the risk of technological failures with trees falling onto wires of overhead power lines in adverse weather conditions, which increases the reliability of the electric grid in the region during the autumn-winter period,” — noted Head of operation analysis and management of the Productive Assets Control Center of the branch Alexander Mozgovoy .

In addition, Voronezhenergo pays much attention to reforestation, so in 2011 at the initiative of power engineers the event One All-Russia Tree Planting Day “Utilities — for the environment” was held in the Voronezh region. As a result, about 1000 trees were planted.
