In the Bryansk region the efforts to protect the population and territories from emergency situations of natural and man-made disasters in 2011 were summed up. Among the organizations that create emergency and rescue crews is IDGC of Centre — Bryanskenergo division that took third place.
The results were summed among territorial and functional units of the Bryansk regional territorial subsystem of the unified state system of prevention and liquidation of emergency situations (EMERCOM).
The Commission of the Bryansk regional authority and State Russian Emergency Ministry of the Bryansk region in late September for two days had a comprehensive review of the branch in relation to its civil defense and elimination of disaster situations of natural and manmade character. The check was completed with exercises, during which the given input to simulate the branch staff in case of failure of electric industry facilities. The assignments set for emergency and technical crews were implemented quickly and efficiently. The Grid Control Center promptly reacted, quickly assessed the situation and made a grounded decision on the restoration of supply of electricity to consumers.
In summarizing the Commission noted that in recent years the quality of work on civil defense and disaster situations in structural units of the branch has improved markedly, upcoming events are conducted qualitatively, report documentation is in good condition. Particularly noted the good organization of training the staff and civil defense units, stable funding for civil defense events, and 100 per cent provision of the personnel with modern means of individual protection.
