“Management of IDGC Centre does everything necessary for the further development of the electric distribution grid complex: it introduces advanced technologies and technical systems that meet the requirements to enhance safety, quality and security of power supply, consolidates knowledge and experience of employees in favor of a solid, innovative, high-tech power grid infrastructure. In the implementation of all development plans of the region Kursk power engineers take an active part”, — noted Alexander Pilyugin.

Among the most important events of 2011 the branch director referred the performance of the integrated and major repair, maintenance and running repair of equipment, clearing and expansion of ROWs along conductors, fleet preparation, staff training and equipping them with protection gear. All this allowed for the completion of the preparation for the autumn-winter period 2011 — 2012 and the receipt of the certificate of readiness for the winter.

Commissioning of modern feeding centers, such as the 110/10 kV substation “Boiler’s” and outgoing power lines of the 110 kV, 110/10 kV substation “Springs”, reconstruction of the substation 110/6 kV “Hothouse” opened up new opportunities for the regional center, ensured the increase of reliability of power supply of existing consumers of the Kursk region, as well as the opportunity for technological connection of new customers.

“The efficient development of the industrial sector, the social sphere, reliable functioning of the housing and communal systems, light, warmth and comfort of residents in each house of the Kursk region depends on your professional and stable operation. Nearly three thousand trained specialists of Kurskenergo provide an uninterrupted supply of electricity to consumers of the region”, — stressed Acting First Deputy Governor of the Kursk region Alexander Demin.

Much has been done by specialists of Kurskenergo in the current year for the formation of a smart system of transmission and distribution management — a priority activity of the technical policy of IDGC Centre.

A new system for collecting and transmitting information has been created, combining the 110 kV substations, each of which has two modern digital communication channels. New channels are based on fiber-optic communication lines. They connect Districts of Electrical Networks with nodes of telecom operators. As part of the transition to the target model of operational and technological management the channels of remote control and communication were switched over to the Grid Control Center of Kurskenergo from former production depots.

The modernization of metering in the retail market is being continued. Until 2020, the program is planned to replace more than two hundred thousand meters. The project can be presented as geographically deployed system to monitor the consumption of each customer in real time. This modern approach to the electricity metering is used today in all developed countries.

More than 220 best employees of Kurskenergo were awarded industry, departmental awards, diplomas and gratitude of the Administration of the Kursk region, Kursk Regional Duma, Head of the city of Kursk on the Power Engineers’ Day.
