Bryanskenergo has received its Certificate of readiness for operation in winter conditions

21.10.2011

IDGC of Centre — Bryanskenergo division has received its Certificate of readiness for the autumn-winter peak loads. The main document of power engineers was presented to the division’s general manager Nikolay Burenok by Head of Technical Inspection Department of IDGC of Centre Oleg Rochagov. The Certificate of readiness confirms that the necessary measures relating to the preparation for opeartion in cold weather the division has taken.

The commission that audited the readiness of Bryanskenergo for the winter included representatives of IDGC of Centre, Department of Fuel and Energy Complex and Housing of the Regional Administration, General Directorate of MES of Russia, Service of electric operation modes of SO UPS Smolensk regional Transmission Control Centre, Prioksk Office of Russian Federal Service for Ecological, Technical and Atomic Supervision.

In preparation for the winter a number of measures have been taken relating to almost all activities of the division. In October arc suppressors will have been installed at eighteen substations and fault recorders will be installed at eight substations. These measures will reduce the vulnerability of power facilities and speed up the fault location and isolation. The planned replacement of oil circuit breakers with more reliable and environmentally cleaner vacuum circuit breakers is under way.

The repair program for nine months has been executed at 105 percent. During this time seven 35-110 kV substations, 448 6-10/0, 4 kV transformer substations, 590 km power lines with 35-110 kV voltage and 1.6 thousand km networks with 0.4-10 kV voltage have been renovated.

Much attention is paid to the readiness to operate in an emergency. Bryanskenergo has created the necessary emergency supply of equipment and materials that may be needed when troubleshooting a grid damage that occurred under the influence of weather anomalies. Maintenance personnel trainings have been conducted who must be ready to work in conditions of increased difficulty. In late September Bryanskenergo in conjunction with EMERCOM of Russia in the Bryansk region held a training, which showed that the division’s staff is trained to competently and efficiently operate in the most complicated emergency situations.

In preparation for the winter the experience of last year was taken into account. Specialists of Bryanskenergo participated in the restoration of power supply in the Moscow and Tver regions. This year, on the basis of the division four crews have been manned and equipped that are ready, if necessary, start eliminating serious damages in the grid both in the Bryansk region and neighboring regions.
