IDGC of Centre –Tverenergo division is ready to operate for the autumn-winter period

Tver division of IDGC of Centre has received its certificate of readiness for the autumn-winter period of 2011-2012. The document certifying the timely and quality preparation of the grid complex of the region for the winter was handed in to Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre — Tverenergo division director, Alexander Eyst, by Deputy Chief Engineer for electric grid facilities management of IDGC of Centre, Evgeniy Turapin.

To obtain the Certificate the specialists of the utility have performed some major and targeted work. The readiness of the structural units, services and Districts of Electrical Networks (DEN) of the division for the autumn-winter peak loads for a few weeks was assessed by a special committee composed of the heads of technical services and departments of Tverenergo.

Power engineers have executed a set of actions to ensure the reliable operation of electrical networks. In addition to the repair activities in 2011 the emergency stock has been restocked up, all crews have been provided with special equipment, including off-road truck-tractors, hydraulic lifts, crew vehicles, full trailers and a truck-mounted crane. As of October 1, 2011 the emergency stock of the division is staffed at 100%.

“The main and most hard work has been completed, but at this stage we do not stop to meet the winter with all the resources available. We have prepared for this and the evidence of which is the received Certificate of readiness”- commented Alexander Eyst.

The staff of the division has been also prepared for work during the autumn-winter peak loads: was and a joint training of power engineers, EMERCOM and district administrations to drill the interaction at elimination of emergencies. A crisis center is in operation to ensure the security of power supply. In addition some measures for labor safety of operating staff have been implemented.

Presenting the Certificate of readiness, Evgeniy Turapin noted: “The power engineers have performed serious and large-scale work. The natural phenomena of winter 2011 were a good test of the Tver energy complex being ready for the autumn-winter period. Expecting and hoping for good weather, we wish Tverenergo to go through this period with confidence under any circumstances and weather situations”.
