Kursk power engineers of IDGC of Centre participated in a joint training session on emergency response and were highly appreciated by the command staff.
The command and staff training in addition to operators of the Grid Control Centre of IDGC of Centre — Kurskenergo division was attended by the Commission on Crime Prevention and Emergency Response and Fire Safety of the Kursk Region, General Directorate of Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Kursk region, operators of SO UPS of the Kursk Transmission Control Centre, OJSC “Quadra” — “Kursk regional generation”.
According to the scenario as a result of a technological failure a blackout for consumers of Southwest District and KZTZ District of the city of Kursk occurred, heating for consumers of Seymsky District and KZTZ District of the regional center stopped. In the framework of the training joint actions were worked out of operators of energy companies and utilities of Kursk on the emergency response in conditions of low ambient air temperatures and limited time to make decisions and implement solutions.
The actions of specialists of IDGC of Centre — Kurskenergo division involved in the preparation of operational calculations, development of proposals for action to be approved by chairman of the Emergency Response Committee (ERC), as well as the personnel of the crew of the Central District of electrical networks (DEN) of the division, who with the use of primary fire extinguishing agents prevented the spread of fire in the 110/10 kV “City” Substation before the arrival of fire brigades and on their arrival they organized extinguishing the fire — were highly appreciated by the deputy governor of the Kursk region — Chief of Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Kursk region Vasily Zubkov for the clear and concerted actions, professionalism and high level of interaction with other units in emergency situations.
Deputy director for technical Issues — chief engineer of IDGC of Centre — Kurskenergo division Alexander Rudnevsky said: “The participation of operators and crews of Kurskenergo in the staff training in anticipation of obtaining a certificate of readiness for the autumn-winter period, is most welcome. Synchronization of actions for personnel of utilities in the region will enable power engineers, as appropriate, promptly take all complex measures on restoration of electricity supply to consumers in the shortest possible time”.
