Young workforce - the future of Tver Power Industry

Thirteen students of the third year of Ivanovo State University (ISPU) did their practical work at IDGC of Centre — Tverenergo division. The company is interested in professionals with a high level of training. From 2008 to present, 37 graduates of ISPU work at Tverenergo.

Specialists of Tverenergo introduce students to the main activities of the division, development prospects and social benefits. The first skills in their future profession students acquire in such departments as the service of relay protection and automation, service of diagnostics and service of substations. Six students had practice in Kalinin district electrical networks as electricians for operation of electricity distribution networks and electric meters.

The students visited operators’ office of Tver district electric networks and the Distribution Control Center of the division. Deputy Chief Engineer for operations and technological control — Head of the Distribution Control Centre of Tverenergo, Vladislav Ostrik, at the meeting with the students emphasized the unique character and importance of the profession of the power man and noted the right choice of the young trainees.

One step of the practice was an introductory excursion to the substation “Azure” 110/35/10 kV. Deputy Head for operations and technological service of the division, Nikolay Kotov, showed the young men new and modern equipment — transformers rated at 40 MW, current-limiting reactors, SF6 and vacuum circuit breakers, protection boxes, control panel. Head of HR department of the division, Sergey Zhirkov noted that the future power men showed their enthusiasm, curiosity and keen interest by asking the Tverenergo specialists many questions. “The future of Tver Power Industry depends mostly on young professionals, so we pay special attention to working with young people in particular — with students. I am sure that the young men can realize their potential and achieve professional success, ”- he stressed.
